Jigsaw Personnel serving the Timber Industry

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY

Jigsaw Personnel Occupational Health and Safety Policy Statement

Jigsaw Personnel operates throughout Australia in the business of supplying quality personnel to a varied customer base.

We must discharge our OHS obligations in accordance with the relevant OHS Acts, Regulations, Australian Standards, Advisory Standards and Codes of Practice.

As a labour hire company we have the same level of responsibility to ensure the health and safety of our employees as the host employer. We do not expect any employee to work in an unsafe environment. Jigsaw Personnel will ensure that any environment we place an employee as an adequate OHSMS.

With every new client we will conduct a documented WHS assessment of all specific work sites to address common administrative and WHS issues that need to be observed and all industry specific issues where applicable.

We will conduct an annual OHSMS audit to AS/NZS 4801:2001 of all specific work sites by a competent WHS Auditor to ensure compliance with relevant Statutory requirements.

We shall establish and maintain an OHSMS in accordance with the requirements of Clause (4) AS/NZS 4801:2001 and all relevant Statutory requirements. This will be documented, implemented, maintained and communicated to all employees and be available to interested parties.

The OHSMS will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains relevant and appropriate to the company.

We will establish measurable objectives and targets to ensure continual improvement and at the elimination of work related injury and illness.

No task will be undertaken if health, safety, environmental or quality standards will be compromised.

Jigsaw Personnel demonstrates its commitment to workplace safety through its intensive selection process, which ensures that right employees are found for the job.

Jigsaw encourages all employees to report safety concerns immediately to Jigsaw Personnel, take reasonable care for their own safety and that of others and to report any injuries to their worksite supervisor and then to Jigsaw Personnel. All employees are expected to wear Personal Protective Equipment at all times.

Prior to placement, all new employees participate in an induction to ensure that they are aware of their Occupational Health and Safety obligations and what procedures to follow in the event of an injury, accident or near miss. Pre placement site safety inspections are conducted prior to the placement of an employee with a new client.

Jigsaw Personnel is a certified Workplace Rehabilitation company and encourages Workplace Rehabilitation. There is a Return to Work Coordinator based in all offices.
